Privacy notice

The short version: I collect as little as possible, I do not track you, and I never sell or share your information for marketing.

Who I am

I'm Cole Light Baker, a creative psychotherapist and a registered dramatherapist (HCPC), working as a sole practitioner. I am responsible for the personal information described here. You can reach me at [email protected].

This website

There are no cookies, no analytics and no tracking. Nothing you do on this site builds a profile of you. The fonts are served from this site rather than from Google, so no request about you goes anywhere else.

Two small preferences are stored in your own browser if you use them: whether you have turned animation off, and whether you have asked for larger text. They never leave your device and I cannot see them.

Like any website, the company that hosts it keeps short-lived technical logs, such as addresses of computers that visited, to keep the site running and secure.

If you get in touch

When you send the form or email me, I receive your name, your email address, anything else you choose to tell me, and your phone number if you give it. The form does not store anything on this website: it is passed to me by an email delivery service and kept in my email inbox.

I use it to reply to you and to arrange a free consultation. If we don't go on to work together, I delete it within six months, or sooner if you ask.

If we work together

I keep what I need to work with you safely: your contact details, the name of your GP and an emergency contact, brief notes of our sessions, and records of payments. Session notes are kept securely and separately from anything else.

I keep therapy records for seven years after our last session, or until you are 25 if we started working together when you were under 18, whichever is longer. Payment records are kept for six years because the law requires it. After that, they are securely deleted.

Why I'm allowed to use it

Data protection law needs a reason for each use. Mine are: to take the steps you ask for before we work together, and then to provide the service we agree (this is the "contract" basis); to keep the financial records the law requires; and, for anything about your health, because it is needed to provide health care by a registered professional who has a duty of confidentiality.

Who else sees it

No one sees what you tell me, with these exceptions. I talk about my work with a clinical supervisor, as my registration requires, without using your name or details that would identify you. The services that run my email, video sessions and bookings hold information on my behalf and are only allowed to use it to provide that service. Some are based outside the UK; where they are, they use the legal safeguards UK data protection law requires.

I would only share something without your agreement if the law required it, or if I believed you or someone else, especially a child, was at serious risk of harm. Where I can, I would talk to you first.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, and in most cases ask me to delete it or stop using it. Email [email protected] and I will reply within a month. There is no charge.

If you are not happy with how I have handled your information, please tell me. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes

If I change how I use your information, I will update this page. Last updated 23 October 2026.
